Learning about Credit

On Thursday, June 29, 2023, the Entrepreneurship Council hosted workshop on credit with Southeast Alabama Regional Vice-President Emily Jernigan from SmartBank.  The purpose of the event was to give members of the community more insite on what credit is and how it affects businesses wishing to obtain a loan.  Mrs. Jernigan also touched on things that credit can effect outside of business, such as insurance rates, car payments, and even getting your lights turned on.

Mrs. Emily Jernigan of SmartBank also touched on things banks look for when looking at your credit.  She also clarified what will be on a credit report and what will not be on a credit report.  She also mentioned how to check your credit and what things cause your credit score to go up and down over time.  After the presentation, participants where able to ask questions and get answers to their own personal needs.

The event was great, and the participants left knowing more than they came in with.  If you would like to attend a future event, feel free to visit our site at www.entrepreneurshipcouncil.org or give us a call at (334) 655-0417.  SmartBank is a sponsor of the Entrepreneurship Council through the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.
